ASETT has participated in two international roundtables held in Chile, focusing on the future of business and its contribution to reducing inequality, as well as the major trends transforming higher education for sustainability.
What will businesses of the future look like? What role can they play in reducing inequality? How can we prepare new generations to face the economic, social and technological transformations ahead?
These were some of the questions addressed during ASETT’s participation in Chile through Ibon Zugasti, ASETT’s collaborator in the field of foresight.
As part of the activities of the Ibero-American Foresight Network (RIBER), ASETT took part in the roundtable “The Future of Business and Its Contribution to Reducing Inequality”, a space for reflection on the evolution of business models and their potential to contribute to fairer, more cohesive societies.
The discussion directly connects with one of ASETT’s key areas of work: exploring how businesses can combine competitiveness, innovation and wealth creation with a more equitable distribution of the value they generate.
ASETT also participated in the roundtable organised by UNESCO-IESALC, entitled “Global Trends Transforming Higher Education for Sustainability”.
This second discussion explored the role of higher education in addressing major global transformations and the importance of developing knowledge, skills and new forms of collaboration that contribute to more sustainable development.
Foresight to Anticipate and Drive Transformation
ASETT’s participation in these international forums reflects its commitment to foresight as a tool for understanding major future trends and helping develop responses rooted in the Social Economy.
Through its foresight work, ASETT promotes reflection on the scenarios that may shape the coming decades, paying particular attention to economic, technological, social and environmental transformations and their implications for business models.
The goal is not simply to anticipate change, but to generate knowledge that helps guide decision-making, identify opportunities and strengthen the transformative capacity of the Social Economy.
ASETT’s participation in Chile also reinforces the international dimension of this work and highlights the importance of connecting perspectives, knowledge and experiences from different territories to address shared challenges.
Because thinking about the future also means starting to build it in the present.
