Over the coming days, ASETT—Arizmendiarrieta Social Economy Think and Do Tank—will undertake a programme of activities in the United States aimed at strengthening international collaboration around the Social Economy, economic democracy and new models of inclusive and sustainable development.

The mission will take place primarily in New York and Boston and will include meetings with universities, public institutions, foundations, impact investment organisations, and key stakeholders from the US cooperative and Social Economy ecosystem.

The mission has a dual objective: to learn from leading international experiences while sharing the knowledge and practices developed in Spain, where the Social Economy has become a global benchmark thanks both to its economic scale and its ability to generate quality employment, strengthen industrial resilience and reduce inequalities through more democratic models of economic participation.

Throughout the mission, ASETT will take part in meetings, site visits and knowledge exchange sessions designed to identify opportunities for collaboration, connect international ecosystems and advance a shared agenda for building new global partnerships.

The programme will explore topics including economic democracy and cooperative business models; cooperative housing and community development; social innovation and impact investing; regional development and economic resilience; and the role of universities and research centres in driving economic and social transformation.

More than a series of institutional meetings, the roadshow is designed to create lasting connections between international organisations working to develop economic solutions centred on people, communities and positive social impact.

At ASETT, initiatives such as this form part of a broader vision to build bridges between international ecosystems, share practical knowledge and contribute to the development of more inclusive, sustainable and participatory economic models.
