Over the coming days, ASETT—Arizmendiarrieta Social Economy Think and Do Tank—will undertake a series of meetings and events in New York and Boston focused on strengthening international partnerships around the Social Economy, regional innovation and new models of inclusive development.

The mission will include meetings with some of the leading organisations in the United States working in cooperative housing, universities and research centres, philanthropic foundations, impact investment networks and community development initiatives.

The programme will combine site visits, strategic discussions and professional exchange sessions with a clear objective: to identify solutions that are already delivering results, connect learning between Europe and the United States, and open up new opportunities for international collaboration.

Key topics on the agenda include cooperative housing models and affordable access to housing; social innovation and community economic development; impact investing and new financing models; economic democracy and participation; and the role of universities and research centres in strengthening the Social Economy.

The mission also reflects the growing interest in connecting international ecosystems that, despite operating in different contexts, are tackling shared challenges such as inequality, access to housing, economic transition and the development of business models with greater social impact.

For ASETT, initiatives of this kind form part of a broader vision to create spaces for international cooperation that bring together knowledge, practical experience and strategic partnerships across the public, business, academic and social sectors.

The Social Economy does not begin here.

But here, it can come together, grow stronger and scale.

Several of the meetings will include sessions open to professionals and the wider public. Registration is now open through NCBA CLUSA for one of the flagship events taking place in New York, organised in partnership with leading organisations from the US social economy ecosystem.
